Cerebus, High Society: The Regency Edition

High Society marked a decisive turning point in Dave Sim’s Cerebus, expanding the series from its early Barry Windsor-Smith styled Conan parody roots into an ambitious work of political satire, social observation, and long-form graphic storytelling.

Published to commemorate the book’s fortieth anniversary, High Society: The Regency Edition presents the complete story—originally published in individual issues 26–50—in hardcover for the first time. The artwork was carefully remastered from original artwork and film materials to recover its intricate line work, tonal detail, and visual clarity, allowing the pages to be reproduced with greater definition than in previous editions.

The volume also includes 24 pages of previously unpublished material drawn from Sim’s personal Cerebus Archive, together with new essays by Sim and Margaret Liss that provide additional context for the book’s creation and development. The restored artwork and archival material offer a renewed view of one of the most important chapters in the series.

The Regency Edition was produced in a limited hardcover edition of 195 signed and numbered copies, featuring silver-gilded page edges and a full-color slipcase finished with silver-foil details. A separate softcover proof edition was limited to 15 copies.
